Vista Learns From Mac

So I took the time some weekends back to upgrade to Vista (yes, not “upgrade to Windows XP” ><”) and was really surprised by how nice the graphics are. I try not to compare graphics between Windows and Mac (because they are two very different styles) but I really like how much more “depth” seems to be in Windows Vista graphics with the reflection, blur, color hue effect.
Overall I really like Vista, but then again I have used the Ultimate version with Aero.

Oh yeah, and turn off the annoying prompt asking you to allow Windows to do any administrative action.

Purpose of Life

What is the purpose of life?
What purpose? How can there be purpose to life?
What is the purpose of a TV? Entertainment.
Who made the TV? Humans…

By your question of “purpose of life”, are you implying there must be a God?
Then the question is asking what we were made by God to do.

There can be no “purpose of life”.
It is like asking what the purpose of Oxygen is.
“So that we can breathe” may be an answer but,
It is not the type of answer we seek when we ask that question.

Just some thoughts ’bout my doubts,
As I began to doze and to my dreams I goes…

Associated Content

I am delving into freelance writing to make a little cash on the side, but mainly to start getting in the habit of writing because I am in the process of writing college essays and AP English is going to start soon (school starts in less than a week!). Associated Content is pretty good because the pay is not too unreasonable for cash on the side and expressing your opinion about a variety of topics.

I recommend checking it out: click the link of the left (where all my other favorite sites/services are).

Thank you!

Thanks everyone for helping this blog finally get over 100 views a day! I suppose it’s not that many views for some people but I really appreciate this amount of traffic to my blog.

Expect (soon) a new and better blog that will feature a better theme, downloads, better content, and a version of WordPress running on 1and1 servers.

FlashDen – I’ve Fallen For It

I have never seen anything like FlashDen (besides AudioJungle and the upcoming ThemeForest)! The quality of the Flash files is exceptional! Everyone should really take a look – that is one successful website/network (Envato).

Here are some of the files that I personally like:

Cool “Boxes” Preloader
Power On Preloader
Sliding XML Menu

All of these Flash files are really easy to use and see how they are made! They give you directions for everything you need to set them up for your real-life projects.

XML Galleries – XML means that you can create a “special” list of images and the galleries will use those images:
Advanced XML Gallery
XML Grid Gallery
2 Level XML Gallery
XML Gallery with Floating Thumbnails

Check it out, they are available at a good price, also!

$30 Million App Store Sales

via MacRumors

…$30 million app store sales in a month is really good!  And Apple takes a 30% cut for each sold app which makes $9 million of profit for Apple – in 1 month.  There were about $1 million of sales each day for 30 days.

MonkeyBall alone made $2 million in net revenue (I take it that means profit).

And the there is that “I Am Rich” app that was taken down but was sold 8 times for $999 which made a profit of $5594 in one day.  Who could’ve guessed that some morons would actually be stupid enough to buy it…

Banned Manga

I personally like OneManga for viewing free manga online so if a manga is banned, I tend not to search for other manga sites. Even though they are banned on OneManga, you can still access them by just adding a 1 (represents the chapter number) after the URL.

Example: If Naruto were to be banned (it’s not) then you could still access the manga by appending a 1 at the end of http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/
http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/1

$10 on Sennheiser in-ear Black Headphones

I already bought one because the reviews were pretty good for it. Dealsea offers (like these) generally become expired very quickly depending on how good a deal it is so if you want one, don’t procrastinate!

Dealsea

Edit: Okay, it hasn’t expired for 2 days now. I think this means its not that good a deal.

College Teacher Shows Students How to Be Hackers

http://www.newsweek.com/id/150465

So, apparently, there is a Computer Security class in California where a college teacher is actually teaching the students how to make viruses, keyloggers, etc. The popular anti-virus software provide no protection against these malware which the college students have created.
